DAILY REPORT
~i
PROJECT NAME: SAN LUIS MINE PROJECT NUMBER: 92401.00
REPORT DATE: 4/10/97
TO: DAVE HALLMAN, SRK PROJECT ENGINEER
FROM: GLENN GUYER, SRK SENIOR FIELD TECHNICIAN
SUBJECT: LINER REPAIR AND EQUIPMENT EXTRACTION FROM TAI;SINGS
IMPOUNDMENT.
I arrived on site at 0800 hrs. The reclamation contractor had a
partial roll of 60-mil HDPE liner delivered to the liner repair
site. The roll contained approximately 163-ft. of liner which
would not cover the area to be repaired. The contractor was
notified. A 325 (CAT) track-hoe was delivered to the site. The
track-hoe was fitted with a rubber pad at the leading edge of the
bucket to reduce the extent of damage to the liner during the
cleaning process. Liner cover material was removed from the
damaged liner and the liner was cleaned by hand.
The causeway constructed yesterday, for the removal of the track-
hoe from the tailings, had stabilized overnight to the Eextent
that a D-8(CAT) dozer was able to tram across and attacYi a one-
inch steel cable to the hoe. Attempts to remove the hoe were not
successful. A combination of a 992(CAT) front-end loader and a D-
8(CAT) dozer lifting and pulling on the track-hoe were «lso
unsuccessful.
~-0~-.\_~.~.~. a
Glenn er, field Representative
DALY410.WP6
