<br /> <br />DAILY REPORT <br />PROJECT NAME <br />SAN LUIS MINE <br />PROJECT NUMBER: 92401.00 <br />REPORT DATE: <br />4/9/97 <br />TO: DAVE HALLMAN, SRK PROJECT ENGINEER <br />FROM: GLENN GUYER, SRK SENIOR FIELD TECHNICIAN <br />SUBJECT: LINER REPAIR AND EQUIPMENT EXTRACTION FROM TAILINGS <br />IMPOUNDMENT. <br />I arrived on site at 0800 hrs. The track-hoe, which had become <br />bogged down in the tailings at co-ordinates N-207571.2, E- <br />2039767.3, at top of tailings elevation 8606.0-ft., on the 8th of <br />April mid-morning, had appeared to have settled approximately two <br />feet over-night. The contractor and I discussed the use of geo- <br />cloth spread on top of the tailings prior to the construction of <br />a six foot high ramp/causeway, to reach the sinking track-hoe. <br />The Geo-cloth was brought to the tailings area and spread and <br />overlapped approximately two feet at the edges, out to the hoe. <br />Two mine haul trucks, one D-SM dozer, one D-SN dozer anc. one 992 <br />front-end loader were used to haul fine grained material for the <br />construction of the causeway. <br />Due to excessive pore pressure build-up <br />felt that the structure was to unstable <br />attempt to extract the track-hoe in the <br />agreed that the pore pressure would pro <br />and that any attempt to extract the hoe <br />following day.
