P3~ase IVb WeeMy Summary No. 30 Page 2 003-2203
Ames continued excavation of the Phase TVb OSA geomembrane anchor trench at the Phase N b/c Yie-
in area, excavating approximately 700 linear feet of anchor trench in preparation for geomembrane
deployment. Ames also continued backfill and compaction of approximately 500 feet of Phase IVb
OSA geomembrane anchor trench.
Ames hauled, placed, and compacted Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the Phase TVb OSA on the east
slope of Chicken Hawk Hill (west of the PSSA). SLF material was worked, tested, and passed per
project specifications prior to SLF surface acceptance.
Ames continued placement of I3igh Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) secondary and
tertiary piping within the Phase TVb OSA limits, followed by Drain Cover Fill (DCF) haul and
placement per project specifications. Ames continued to haui and place DCF in the Phase TVb OSA on
the south-facing slopes of Raven Hill. Ames also removed DCF from the west Phase III azea in
prepazation for Phase IVb / Phase >II geosynthetics tie-in.
Ames corninued production of DCF at the screen plant located near the Secondary Crusher. Ames also
resumed limited production of SLF.
Poly-Flex continued deployment of 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase
TVb OSA on the east-facing slope of Chicken Hawk 1=-Till. Poty-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided
textured LLDPE geomembrane over an area of approximately 315,629 squaze feet in the Phase TVb
OSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane panels B-721 through B-828 were deployed, seamed,
and tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam samples DFb-205 through DFb-239
and DXb-44 through DXb116 were marked and removed. The results of testing on destructive fusion
and extrusion samples DFb-192 through DFb-221, DFb-223 through DFb-239, and DXb-43 through
DXb-46 passed per project specification. DFb-222 failed to meet project specification and additional
destmctive samples (DFb-222a1 and DFb-222b1) were taken across approximately 35 linear feet of
fusion weld until passing conditions were met. The delineated failure across the seaming length was
capped and extrusion welded.
A map ofthe area worked during this reporting period is provided in Attachmern C.
Phase TVc
Ames did not perfom any constr=setion ac`uvities ;:-r the Phase IVc area during this reporting period.
ADR Liner Expansion
Ames hauled, placed, and compacted Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the ADR Liner Expansion area
west of the CC&V lab, SLF material was worked, tested, and passed per project specifications prior to
SLF surface acceptance.
Ames excavated and conshucted approximately 250 feet of LDT in the ADR Liner Expansion azea,
extending the Phase I LDT. Ames backfilled the 3-inch diameter PVC extension pipe with trench
bedding fill material and reconstructed the Leak Detection Sump maztlrole west ofthe end berm.
rn~,wwn~c~,-w~c'fo, zoo3 CaoiQer Associates inC.
