Corey Pit No. 3 <br />DMG 112 Permit Conversion Application <br />EXHIBIT G -Water Information <br />(1) The operation is not expected to directly affect any groundwater systems. The only <br />surface water present on the site is irrigation water when the fields on top of the mesa <br />were irrigated. These fields have been taken out of production and are no longer being <br />irrigated. There is a seep azea in the southwest corner of the existing pit that drains into <br />the gulch to the west of the affected lands. <br />(2) (a) Earthen imgation ditches feed water to the fields on top of the mesa on Corey <br />property from south of the affected lands during the irrigation season. These <br />ditches will no longer be used during the mining operation. There aze no down <br />stream users of these ditches. <br />(b) There are no known aquifers on the property. Mexican Gulch runs south to north <br />on the east side of the Corey property outside the affected lands at an elevation <br />below the gravel deposit. Pelton Draw runs south to north west of the affected <br />lands and joins Mexican Gulch north of the affected lands. This smaller gulch is <br />also below the elevation of the bottom of the gravel deposit. The Silver Springs <br />Trout Farm lies east of the existing pit area on the east side of Mexican Gulch. <br />The operation will not affect these waters. <br />(c) Stormwater runoff within the pit will be directed by grading and/or perimeter <br />ditches to the southwest comer of the existing pit and discharged into the gulch to <br />the west in accordance with the Stormwater Discharge Pennit. <br />(3) The only water use by the mining operation will be for dust control at an estimated rate of <br />6000 gallons per day. On site irrigation water will be used to aide reclamation. <br />(4) Water will be obtained from an approved source off site for dust control. Irrigation water <br />to be used in reclamation is owned by Robert Corey. <br />(5) There will be no discharge of process water or water from dewatering. The applicant has <br />applied for a Stormwater Discharge Permit for Sand and Gravel Operations from the <br />Water Quality Control Division at the Colorado Department of Public Health and <br />Environment. <br />
