Mining has been occurring in this permit area since 1981.
The operator estimates that there is sufficient material re-
maining fior another 20-25 years of operation. Since the
reclaimed use is to be for industrial purposes, reclamation
is complete in any area when mining has reached to within 6"
- 12" of the pit floor. This b"-12" will be left as plating
for the industrial uses contemplated. Rule 6.4.4, Exhibit D
- Mining Plan (eI states in part: An Dperator/Applicant
shall not be required to meet specific dates for initiation,
or completion of mining in a phase as may be identified in
the timetable.
(i) an estimate of the periods of time which will be re-
quired for the various stages or phases of the operation.
This will not be a defiinitely phased operation, but will be a
floating bond operation. Mining will continue in the 35 A
afifected area presented in this application in a northerly
and westerly manner, depending on the area of the pit being
mined. After this original area is depleted, the mining will
continue in a northerly manner in that area in the northwest
of the Section 21 portion that is unmined.
(ii) a description of the size and location of each area to
be worked during each phase.
The original 35A affected area presented will be mined first
and in a manner indicated by the arrows showing the direction
of mining. The portion in Section 20 will be opened shortly.
When the original 35A portion is depleted, mining will pro-
ceed north in the final segment of Section 21 containing
approximately 15A until complete. It is anticipated that
with the business demand in the area, that a mayor portion of
the original 35A will have already been converted to indus-
trial use.
(iii) outline the sequence in which each stage of the op-
eration will be carried out.
This has been well defined in items (i) and (ii) above, with
the original 35A affected area presented in this application
being mined first. This could take 10-18 years to accom-
plish. The final mining will occur in the remaining permit
area in Section 21, containing approximately 15A, and
could take 8 - 15 years to complete.
(f) The Soils and Vegetation map in Exhibit may be used
along with the narrative to present the following informa-
tion:
These items will be covered in the following narrative in
mare detail than on the map.
