Wetland Special Use Peni~it Application -San Miguel County, CO <br />Pathfinder Cravel Pit <br />Applicant: Scott Smith/ Pathfinder Inc. <br />Summary <br />Application is being made to San Miguel County, for a Wetland Special Use Permit to discharge fill <br />materials into a wetland area. The discharge is necessary for the reconstruction of a roadway to ensure the <br />stability of a historically unstable slope. The wetland fill is permitted by The US Army Corps of Engineers <br />under Nationwide Permit Number 14; case number 199975336. This permit requires the development of a <br />wetland mitigation and monitoring plan for the site. Additional Wetland Special Use permits are required <br />by San Miguel County for development activities in a wetland. <br />4-201 General <br />See attached. <br />4-202 Required Background Information <br />See Exhibit "A". <br />4-203 Parcel Description <br />See Exhibit "B". <br />4-204 Disclosure and Proof of Ownership <br />See Exhibit "C". <br />4-205 Legal Access <br />See Exhibit "D". <br />4-206 Standards Report <br />According to the "Pre-Application Summary", the provided summary letter constitutes the "Standards <br />Repoli". <br />5-2203 Development in Wetland Areas <br />5-2203 A. Two-Step Special Use Permit Review. Completed per BOCC Resolution No. 2002-1. <br />5-2203 B. "Development", or road repair activities are required far public safety. Road and slope <br />repairs will increase public safety, and require impacts to the adjacent wetland area. <br />5-2203 C. Minimization of impacts is understood to be a requirement of any work completed in <br />the wetland buffer zone area. BMP's including, but not limited to silt fencing, check dams and <br />erosion control netting will be used to minimize any sedimentation into the wetlands. <br />5-2203 D. Impact Mitigation for Wetland Uses and Activities. See attached Mitigation and <br />Monitoring Plan. <br />5-2203 E. Submission Requirements.
