CAMEO GRAVEL
EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
These six parcels have been evaluated together. Four (4) separate mining plans have
been laid out, and will be referenced as follows (See Exhibit C)
North Area Mine Site (25.9 Ac. affected area)
Middle Area Mine Site (42.0 Ac. affected area)
South Area Mine Site (4.3 Ac. affected area)
West Area Mine Plan (9.34 Ac. affected area)
Each area will be mined and reclaimed in Phases. The North, Middle and West Mine
Areas contain 31 Phases -containing 2.0-2.5 acres. The South Mine Area contains 4
Phases of 1.0-1.2 acres. The approximate life of each phase will be 2-5 years.
North Area Mine Plan:
When developed, the North Area will contain the equipment storage area, stock piles,
storm water retention and office scales house. The North Area will not be developed
until sales volume calls for crushing and screening of the raw material.
A shorter haul distance to and from the dispersal point of Interstate I-70 makes the
North Area more desirable for large sales volumes. A minimum of 30 foot set-backs
from the property lines and adequate set-backs from the steep bluffs along I-70 will be
maintained.
The mine plan anticipates removal of the construction materials down to the sandstone
cap of the Mesa Verde formation identified in the Geologic report. Top Soil and
unmarketable material will be laid back over the disturbed areas and re-seeded with the
exception of the 2.0± acre stock pile, storage and sales office areas (See exhibit).
The existing haul road between the North Area and I-70 frontage road will be improved
and dust controlled (watered) as needed. Recent construction of the 48 inch Ute Water
pipeline has utilized the haul roads connecting the three areas.
Middle Area Mine Plan:
The Middle Area Excavation Mine Plan calls for removal of the construction materials
within the thirty (30) foot setbacks from the property lines outside utility line easements
down to the depth of the Mesa Verde sandstone cap. Clean-up of surface deposits is
proposed only for the slopes of the 13.84 acre parcel North of Ute Water Plant. The
haul road from the South area to the Middle area traverses this 13.84 acre parcel.
Until crushing begins, the existing gravel pit (Western Slope Flagstone Quany No. 2),
located within the Middle Area Mine Plan, will contain the excavation and screening
equipment, stockpiles and scales yard.
6
