Phase [Vb Weekly Summary No. 3 Page 3 003-2203 • Ames continued placement of Select Structural Fill (SSF) into UG-270 and UG-?88/289. Ames constructed a geogrid cap over UG-269 and UG-286. Ames placed two layers of geogrid in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Field Monitorine and Testing Activities Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IV earthworks. All construction materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in accordance with project specifications. Removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill areas was observed. Golder observed Structural Fill (SF) placement in Phase IV for materials, lift thickness, moisture content, and compactive effort. Golder observed placement of SLF and BF in Phase IVb for subgrade preparation, thickness, compaction, moisture content, and materials. Golder conducted seventeen in-situ density and moisture content tests to verify SLF placed complied with the specifications. Golder observed eleven depth verification tests performed by Ames. Golder observed and documented remediation activities associated with the Phase IV underground working construction. Workings were designated as "Shallow or Deep" as defined in the drawings. Golder observed placement of SF, SSF, CP, and CR for underground working remediaion. These . materials were placed in accordance- with the drawings and specifications into excavated or open underground workings. Golder previously obtained samples of SF, SSF, CR, and CP for laboratory testing. Materials supplied met specifications. Terracon conducted field testing and sampling of CP concrete as per specifications, and will supply 28-day strength results. Golder observed excavation of geomembrane anchor trench for proper dimensions, and depth of SLF exposed in the anchor trench. Golder observed anchor trench backfill activities for material, lift thickness, and compactive effort. Golder observed geomembrane deployment, documenting ambient air temperature, pane- dimensions, seaming, tie-in overlap, and seam testing (trial seams, pressure, vacuum, and destructive). Geomembrane placed in Phase IVb met specifications. Golder observed and documented confirmation drilling activities associated with the Phase IV construction. Full-time monitoring was given to confirmation drilling of underground workings, including logging holes, marking drill locations, surveying holes, and documenting underground workings encountered. Golder observed construction of a trench and sump near the PSSA sump.
