6.4.4. Exhibit D -Mining Plan
2. Cells 6&7 (Storage Pond 2) has a total of 38401ineal feet to be lined at an average
depth of 18 feet. To date, 2200 feet of compacted liner has been installed in accordance
with the E.E.C. design (Exhibit G), 1200 feet has been sloped to the 3:1 slope, and the
area north of the cell has been reclaimed and seeded. The quantities we used for our
reclamation cost estimate were for the entire 3840 lineal feet of liner, sloping, and topsoil
as required by the DMG's 100 percent performance guazantee option for lining Ponds.
6.4.5. Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan
3. As discussed with Erica Crosby on 10/09/02, Loveland Ready Mix is considering
a plan to reclaim the Siltation Ponds 5 & 6 on the south of the river to wetlands. This
concept planning is in the preliminary stages and we have not determined the feasibility
of a wetlands plan at this time. Our current reclamation plan for these Ponds is to
partially fill them with washed fines, finish grade the area, and seed it. Because the
washed fines are an excellent growth medium for gasses we will not topsoil this area but
rather just grade it and seed it as reflected in our reclamation cost estimate. When the
mining operation is completed, Pond 3 on the south side of the river will remain as it is
today - a three-acre reclaimed fresh water Pond, silt Pond 4 has already been completely
reclaimed and seeded, silt Pond 5 will be filled except fora 2t acre Pond and reclaimed
and silt Pond 6 will be filled except for a one (lt) acre Pond and reclaimed.
In the future, if we determine it is feasible to reclaim silt Ponds 5 and 6 into a wetlands
area, we will submit another amendment or technical revision to our permit.
4. The remaining Ponds referenced in the inspection report of 10/09/02 have all been
reclaimed and will remain as open water Ponds except for the waste area shown on the
Mining Plan Map. This waste azea was a 10-acre cell of which 8 acres has been filled
with 2 acres remain to be filled. (See Paragraph 7 below) Existing Pond 2 is shown on
the Map as a future silt area and future inert fill area. This is an 18-acre Pond that will be
partially filled to a Pond area between 10 acres to 16 acres. Pond 2 has been reclaimed at
this time. Areas of Pond 2 that are filled will be graded, topsoiled, and seeded.
5. Cell 9 will be filled with overburden and reclaimed concurrently with the mining
process. A maximum of 35,000 c.y. of overburden will be stockpiled at any one time.
After approximately 3 to 4 acres of cell 9 have been mined, the stockpiled overburden
and newly stripped overburden will be placed back into the excavated area. Overburden
from ce118 will be placed back into ce119 when it is stripped.
6. As discussed above, we still plan to reclaim silt Ponds 5 and 6 by filling and re-
vegitating with a grass seed mix. We reclaim the Ponds by filling bermed areas with silt,
allowing them to dry naturally, then re-grading and reseeding the area. Pond 3 is a 3t
acre fresh water Pond that has been reclaimed but may require additional seeding. Pond
4 was approximately 4t acres and has been completely reclaimed. Pond 5 was originally
a 9t acre Pond that has been partially filled with silt. Approximately 7t acres of Pond 5
