manually slotted within the drain sump area as shown on the Drawings. <br />• The top and bottom shall be capped and a 1/4-inch air vent hole <br />installed below the top cap. Couplings shall be slip-on, glued or <br />threaded at the joints. <br />The manufactured slotted section shall have three rows of slots <br />spaced at 120' on maximum 1/2-inch centers. The slot widths shall <br />be between 0.02 to 0.05 inches. <br />The top section of pipe shall be anchored to the top synthetic <br />liner with an HDPE liner boot and water proof clamp. The top of the <br />pipe shall extend a minimum of six-inch above the liner crest. <br />8.6 Culvert Pioe <br />The culvert pipe for the access road drainage shall be zinc- <br />coated corrugated metal pipe (CMP) furnished and installed by the <br />Contractor, as recommended by the manufacturer, to the Vines, grades, <br />• ~ and dimensions shown on the Drawings. The CMP culverts shall have <br />a minimum 14 gauge thickness with 1/2-inch deep grooves on 2-2/3- <br />inch centers or equivalent. Pipe connections shall be banded with <br />12-inch minimum width metal straps provided by the manufacturer. <br />The pipe shall be founded on and backfilled with Type 4 <br />material as specified. Pipe lengths shall be as long as practical <br />for shipping and installation to reduce the number of joints. CMP <br />pipe and bands shall be transported, stored, and handled in such a <br />manner as to prevent damage to the zinc coating and to prevent <br />bending and distortion of the pipe, especially in the areas of the <br />joints. CMP materials that have been damaged to the extent that the <br />pipe cannot function as intended, as determined by 'the Engineer, <br />shall be replaced by the Contractor at the Contractor's, own expense. <br />The CMP shall be installed in strict accordance with the <br />manufacturer's instructions and recommendations. To prevent damage <br />• to the zinc coating, the pipe shall be handled with fabric, <br />41 <br />
