8.3 Tailings Delivery Pioeline <br />• The tailings delivery system extends from the millsite to the <br />disposal area perimeter and interior, and includes pipelines, valves, <br />connecting feeder pipes and by-pass or end discharge points, pipe <br />support blocks, thrust blocks, and other miscellaneous items as shown <br />on the Drawings. Pipeline materials shall be as specified herein, <br />while other materials associated with the tailings delivery system <br />shall be furnished as necessary. <br />The tailings delivery pipelines shall be HDPE Dri~scopipe 8600, <br />or approved equivalent HDPE pipe with a standard dimension ratio <br />(SDR) of 15.5. Pipe alignments and diameters are as shown on the <br />Drawings. Pipe joints shall be butt fusion welded end to end in the <br />field. The butt fusion method shall be performed in strict <br />conformance with the pipe manufacturer's recommendations using <br />approved equipment. HDPE flanged ends shall be installed for <br />connecting to valves and feeder pipe discharge points, as directed <br />• 1 by. the Owner. <br />The discharge point feeder pipe shall be four-inch diameter <br />HDPE Schedule 80 with a rubber connection to the main pipeline for <br />clamp pinch valve shutoff. <br />8.4 Water Return Pioeline and Pond Outlet Pioe <br />The water return pipeline covered by this Specification is from <br />the collection pond to the tailings pond. Pipeline alignments are <br />shown on the Drawings. The pipe shall consist of HDPE pipe sized to <br />accommodate the maximum flow rate and pressures to be produced in <br />the pipeline. <br />8.5 Leachate Detection Pioe <br /> The Leachate detection pipe shall consist of Schedule 80 <br />• unslotted eight-inch diameter PVC pipe with the bmttom section <br />40 <br />
