8.0 PIPE MATERIAL AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS <br />• 8.1 General <br />The Contractor shall furnish and install pipe materials and <br />miscellaneous items including, but not limited to, disposal area <br />drain collection pipes, tailings delivery pipe, secondary collection <br />water return pipe, leachate detection pipe and geodrain mat, and <br />access road culverts, as specified herein or as shown on the <br />Drawings. The Owner reserves the right to furnish and install all <br />HDPE pipe materials and associated connections and valves. <br />8.2 Disposal Area Drain Pioe <br />The disposal area drainage system shown on the Drawings shall <br />be constructed using heavy duty ADS slotted pipe, or equivalent, and <br />shall be provided with a filter sock. The ADS pipes shall be <br />interconnected with manufactured joints and drain to the open lined <br />tailings solution collection channel at the toe area. <br />• <br />The ADS filter sock, or equivalent, shall have the following <br />properties by applicable ASTM standards: <br />Fabric = 100% polyester knitted; <br />Fiber size = 100 to 200 denier per filament; <br />Burst strength = 90 to 125 psi; <br />Air permeability = 500 to 750 CFM/sq ft; and <br />Water flow rate = 350 to 400 GPM/sq ft/3 inch water head. <br />The ADS tubing slot sizes shall have standard dimensions for <br />three-inch diameter corrugated tubing as recommended by the <br />manufacturer. <br />Minimum slot inlet area shall be one sq inch per ft with a <br />maximum slot length of 10 percent of the tubing inside nominal <br />. circumference. <br />39 <br />
