The Contractor is <br />responsible for coordinating the dumping scenario to minimize <br />soil compaction and required pivoting of vehicles. <br />6.2.2 Tvoe 2 Material <br />The Contractor shall furnish, transport, and place Type 2 <br />material to the lines and grades, and in the locations shown <br />on the Drawings and set forth in the Specifications, or as <br />specified by the Engineer. <br />Type 2 material shall be utilized for the construction <br />of an upstream face of the main embankment overlying Type 1 <br />material, as well as the drainage blanket covering the disposal <br />area floor. Type 2 material shall consist of inorganic soils <br />(sands) having a maximum particle size of 1-1/2 inches and the <br />~ following gradation: <br />• <br />U.S. Standard % Passing by <br />Sieve Size Weight <br />3/8 inch >50 <br />;~4 >~5 <br />X10 55-95 <br />;V40 25.75 <br />;200 <35 <br />Type 2 material will be in direct contact with the <br />synthetic liner, where utilized as a pervious drainage blanket. <br />The initial dumping shall be confined to a~n area outside <br />the limits of the lined area. In no instance shall material <br />be directly dumped on the liner. The dumping of material inside <br />the lined area shall be allowed only when sufficient area has <br />been achieved such that damage to the liner will not occur. <br />The material shall be placed such that the final spreading and <br />• leveling produces a minimum two-ft thickness.
