The final <br />surface shall be compacted to 95 percent of the maximum dry <br />density (ASTM D-698) at less than the optimum moisiture content. <br />Compaction shall be performed using only smooth-wheel <br />nonvibratory compactors. <br />Rock fragments greater than 3/4 inch which are exposed <br />shall be removed prior to liner placement. <br />6.2.4 Tvoe 4 Material <br />The Contractor shall furnish, transport, and place Type 4 <br />• material to the lines and grades, and in the locations shown <br />23 <br />
