The Contractor shall take such steps as are necessary to avoid <br />• ponding of water on the fill or contamination of the fill by traffic <br />or other causes, and shall at all times keep the fill surface and <br />slopes free from rubbish, rejected or unsuitable fill, or waste <br />materials. <br />It is the Contractor's responsibility to maintain protection <br />of the liner bedding and liner subgrade of both lined areas and areas <br />to be lined in such a manner as to prevent erosion due to inclement <br />weather and snowmelt. Should this protection be breached, it is the <br />Contractor's responsibility to rehabilitate said liner subgrade(s) <br />to approved conditions as outlined in this Specification prior to <br />resumption of additional liner placement. <br />2.5 Communications <br />All notices, demands, requests, instruction:r, approvals, <br />proposals, and claims must be in writing. <br />• ` Any notice to or demand upon the Contractor shall be <br />sufficiently given if delivered at the office of the Contractor, <br />stated on the signature page of the agreement (or at such other <br />office as the Contractor may from time to time designate in writing <br />to the Owner), or if deposited in the United States mail in a sealed, <br />postage-paid envelope, or delivered with charges prepaid to any <br />telegraph company for transmission, in each case addressed to such <br />office. <br />2.6 Schedule of Work <br />The Contractor shall develop a schedule of work for the <br />Engineer's approval to complete the construction. In no instance <br />shall approval by the Engineer be considered to absolve the <br />Contractor from the responsibility of performing the required work <br />or of protecting the work in interim work stages, or from protecting <br />• the work completed prior to final acceptance by the Engineer. <br />7 <br />
