Upon completion of construction, such roads shall be <br />reclaimed to approximate original conditions unless otherwise <br />directed by the Owner. <br />2.3 Suspension and Resumption of Operations <br />The Contractor shall suspend fill placement and foundation <br />preparation operations whenever conditions for such operations are <br />unsatisfactory due to rain, snow, wind, cold temperatures, or any <br />other reason deemed detrimental to said work by the Engineer. <br />The Contractor shall suspend liner placement when, in the <br />opinion of the Engineer, the criteria for successful liner placement <br />as outlined in Section 7.0 can not be met. <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for protection of <br />excavations and fills from inclement weather. Where operations have <br />• ~ been suspended, the effects of the rain, wind, or other adverse <br />conditions shall be considered by the Contractor before resuming <br />construction. fill placed on frozen or overly wet surfaces shall be <br />considered unacceptable, as determined by the Engineer, and removed <br />at the Contractor's expense. Equipment shall not be allowed to travel <br />on fill materials until the fill has dried sufficiently to prevent <br />excessive rutting and to allow the equipment to be operated <br />satisfactorily. If such rutting does occur, the Contractor shall <br />re-level, scarify, dry, and recompact the material to whatever depth <br />is required, with the re-leveling and scarifying being at the <br />Contractor's expense. <br />2.4 Protection and Maintenance <br />The Contractor shall maintain all fill placed yin a condition <br />satisfactory to the Engineer. <br />• <br />6 <br />
