CAMEO GRAVEL
EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
The gravel extraction depth is variable due to the thickness of the deposits, but
generally be removed by the use of track excavators and wheel loaders at a slope of 3:1
from the perimeter of the excavation lines determined from the existing (electric, gas, or
water) ulility lines and from property lines. Top soil (4-12 inches thick) will be stock piled
in berms adjacent to the last or future area of extraction for replacement,
The (112) mining plan proposes that two areas of extraction will exist concurrently. One
in the North mine area and one in the South mine area. Materials from the South mine
area will be transported and/or processed and stockpiled in the sales yard in the North
mine area.
No more than 5 acres total will be affected at any one time. Therefore, bonding of 5
acres is expected to cover both areas of concurrent disturbance. Replacement and re-
vegetation of top soil shall be in 1 acre intervals within 6 months of completion of
excavation and shall be guaranteed for three years or until firmly established.
Heavy equipment storage at the sites shall be limited to 16 vehicles related to the
operation. Additional heavy equipment may be temporarily on site during
crushing/screening operations.
Dust control of haul road and top soil berms shall be maintained with water trucks as
needed.
Portable Sanitary facilities shall be maintained on each excavation or processing site as
needed.
The soils characteristics are generally uniform throughout the site and the re-vegetation
plan previously recommended by the Tri-river Extension Service will be utilized.
No discharge of storm water shall occur from the affected area because of the
excavation (pit) design. Some storm water may be collected in dikes adjacent to the
roads for erosion control.
The predicted life of the expanded mine plan will exceed 50 years, depending on
demand and construction materials produced, such as screened rock, large lava, rip/rap,
landscape stone and road base.
No blasting will occur during the extraction process.
7.) PROJECTED NEED:
It is anticipated that 40-50,000 ton of crushed material plus 10-20,000 ton raw material
will be mined per season to meet the demand of the community.
