Phase IVb Weekly Summary No. 20 Page 2 003-2203 <br />• Ames graded and compacted Structural Fill (SF) on the east end berm of the Phase Nb OSA above El. <br />9606 in prepazation for Bedding Fill (BF) placement and OSA geomembrane deployment in the azea. <br />Ames hauled, placed, and graded BF on the east end berm of the Phase Nb OSA area. <br />Ames fusion welded and placed High Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) 26-inch primary <br />piping on the Phase Nb PSSA upper geomembrane. Ames also placed HVSCS secondary and tertiary <br />piping within the PSSA, followed by DCF placement per project plans. <br />Schmueser and Associates performed welding and field fitting of the HVSCS 26-inch steel elbows and <br />pipe sections that rise out of the sump area and onto the floor of the PSSA. <br />Ames excavated and constructed approximately 600 feet of Leak Detection Trench (LDT) on the south <br />slope of Substation Hill in the Phase IVb OSA area, tying into the Phase Na LDT. <br />Ames continued production of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) at the screen plant located near the secondary <br />crusher. <br />Ames hauled and placed DCF onto the Phase IVb PSSA upper geomembrane, in the west, east, and <br />north portions of the PSSA. DCF was placed over installed HVSCS piping and over the riser base <br />plates, per the project plans. <br />• Ames began to haul and place Select Drain Cover Fill (SDCF) in the vicinity of the vertical risers, per <br />the project plans. <br />Ames hauled and placed Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the Phase IVb OSA, south and west of the <br />LOB on the north slope of the OSA. <br />Poly-Flex continued deployment of 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase <br />IVb OSA. Poly-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane over an area of <br />approximately 208,626 square feet in the Phase Nb PSSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane <br />panels B-21 through B-76 were deployed, seamed, and pressure tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion <br />and extrusion seam samples DFb-4 through DFb-25 and DXb-OS through DXb-08 were mazked and <br />removed. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam peel and sheaz tests of DFb-OS through DFb-25 and <br />DXb-OS through DXb-08 were performed and passed per project specification. DFb-04 failed to meet <br />project specification and destructive samples DFb-4a and DFb-4b were taken across approximately 32 <br />feet of seaming length until passing conditions were met.
