Phase IVb Weekly Summary No. 19 Page 2 003-2203 <br />Ames fusion welded and placed High Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) 26-inch primary <br />piping on the Phase Nb PSSA upper geomembrane. Ames also placed HVSCS secondary and tertiary <br />piping within the PSSA, followed by DCF placement per project plans. <br />Ames placed four HVSCS 26-inch primary base plates on the floor of the PSSA sump. Ames also <br />placed the connecting 26-inch perforated HVSCS primary pipe between the riser base plates as shown <br />in the project plans. <br />Ames excavated and constructed approximately 650 feet of Leak Detection Trench (LDT) on the south <br />slope of Substation Hill in the Phase IVb area. <br />Ames continued production of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) at the screen plant located neaz the secondary <br />crusher. <br />Ames hauled and placed DCF onto the Phase IVb PSSA upper geomembrane, in the west, east, and <br />north portions of the PSSA. DCF was placed over installed HVSCS piping, per the project plans. <br />Ames hauled and placed Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the Phase IVb OSA, south and west of the <br />LOB on the north slope of the OSA. <br />On Wednesday, May 28`h, Ames opened about a one foot by one foot hole in the upper 100 mil <br />• single-sided textured geomembrane in the PSSA sump to drain collected precipitation into the <br />LVSCS and allow removal via a submersible pump placed in the LVSCS risers. Water was pumped <br />from the LVSCS risers until the pumped cavitated on about May 30`s, along with repeated periodical <br />pumping efforts thereafter. PolyFlex repaired and tested the geomembrane on May 30`h <br />Poly-Flex completed deployment of 100-mil double-sided smooth (upper) LLDPE geomembrane in the <br />Phase IVb PSSA. Poly-Flex deployed 100-mil smooth LLDPE geomembrane over an area of <br />approximately 57,683 square feet in the Phase Nb PSSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane <br />panels U-418 through U-456 were deployed, seamed, and pressure tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive <br />fusion seam samples DFu-123 through DFu-129 were marked and removed. Destructive fusion seam <br />peel and sheaz tests of samples DFu-123 through DFu-129 were performed and passed per project <br />specifications. <br />Poly-Flex resumed deployment of 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase IVb <br />OSA. Poly-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane over an area of <br />approximately 60,505 square feet in the Phase IVb PSSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane <br />panels B-1 through B-20 were deployed, seamed, and pressure tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion <br />and extrusion seam samples DFb-1 through DFb-3 and DXb-O1 through DXb-04 were marked and <br />removed.
