Mine Pool. The five quarterly baseline samples will be the first five quarterly samples taken from the Cash Mine Well prior to the initiation of. mining, or as soon thereafter as is required. The five quarterly samples will be the samples taken in September 2006 and December 2006, together with the samples to be taken in March 2007, June 2007, and September 2007. Pending this sampling, the past results from the mine pool will be used to develop a provisional baseline, as shown in Table 3. The baseline developed from the quarterly samples will be distinguished from operationally impacted water quality by comparison of the quality of water in Table 3 with the data collected in the first five quarterly samples, looking in particular for mining-related changes, for example in nitrate (which can be. derived from blasting). In the event that there is evidence of mine- related impacts, MRV will propose the adoption of the baseline presented in Table 3.
