It was determined that two topsoil piles, formally located along the 6ylveater Quleh road, had been moved to the benches of the' refuse pile wl~,l,Qµt appror•al iron the Division. This was evidenced by the formation of rills that be~nn at t•he top of the pile. Prior to the aoncluaion of the inspection, the operator constructed a berm in this are'a.to prevent taster [tom ilowinyt over the lace of the pile. •The operator conti.nicna sad should continue to maintain a berm arrd Gilt fence ' around the yerimeter of the pile, at the top of the pile. MCC ' should complete the reclamation of the western aide of t}re refuse pile, including seeding, prior to the end of ttrla field season. • ~•. PQJlD SPORT ,. ~ •t i MB-ir The operator's pond inspection ieport for .the second quarter oP 1993, noted a seep at the NiQ corner oP the toe of the enbanl'.ment near the 5w corner of the surface shop. • At the time of the Division's inspection the embankment was damp, and there was standing water of the gravel pad below tics enbanlcmerrt. 7'hure are cattails growing, which is evidence that cite seep has been active for some time. This area should continue to be monitored, .to identify the source of the water. There ware some cracks noted on • the north side of the pond, on top of the embankment. I am not ^ure iP the cracks are related to settlement or ir,stabilit;• oP the embankment. The cracks should continue to be monitored to determine for signs of instability.
