Specifications. Bidders are encouraged to identify as many aspects of the <br />work as possible to enhance the utilization of SDBES. <br />The Work is to commence on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed. A <br />Notice to Proceed may be given at any time within 45 days after the <br />Effective Date of the Agreement. Completion of the Work shall be in <br />accordance with the following deadline schedule: <br />Completion Item Date <br />Substantial Completion January 1, 2004 <br />Final Completion April 1, 2004 <br />Hid Security equaling five percent (5~) of the total bid must accompany <br />each Bid in the form of a certified check, a bank cashier's check drawn on <br />an accredited Denver area bank, or a Bid Bond in the form attached. <br />The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction <br />Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond, each in the full amount <br />of the Contract, executed by a corporate Surety authorized to do business <br />in Colorado (and satisfying the requirements set forth in ARTICLE 5 - BONDS <br />AND INSURANCE in the General Conditions), guaranteeing faithful performance <br />and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance <br />of the Contract. <br />No Bid may be withdrawn within a period of 45 days after the date fixed for <br />opening Bids. <br />OWNER reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids, to waive <br />informalities and to reject nonconforming, non-responsive, or <br />conditional Bida. <br />Pertinent questions regarding the general project requirements may be <br />directed to James Weldon, Project Engineer, by calling (303) 628-6657 or <br />FAX (303) 628-6851. <br />Pertinent questions regarding the bentonite slurry wall design work may be <br />direct to Bob Huzjak or Ed Friend at (303) 662-0100 or fax (303) 662-8757. <br />CITY AND COUNTY OF DENVER, <br />ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS <br />BOARD OF WATER CONP7ISSIONERS <br />By Richard A.
