EXHIBIT H
Wildlife Information
The proposed expansion azea is not developed, has sparse vegetation and few
native species. Cottontail rabbits, assorted rodents, small reptiles and birds can be found
in the general area. During the process to obtain Mesa County's approval for expanded
mining operations, the conditional use permit application was reviewed by several state
and federal agencies, including the State of Colorado Division of Wildlife, and the
agencies did not identify the proposed expansion area as having wildlife habitat
characteristics. Further, the review agencies contacted, including the Colorado Division
of Wildlife, found no adverse impacts on the natural environment resulting from site
operations.
The proposed pit expansion azeas aze not known habitat for any endangered or
threatened species, and mining and reclamation activities will not interfere with
migratory fly routes. There is no known seasonal use of the area by any significant
species.
Irrigated farmlands, the proposed post-mining land use, will provide attractive
habitat for some species.
