As mining proceeds, the crusher and temporary product stockpiles generally will
follow the mining face. The crusher plant will be onsite for much of the project,
including Areas B and C, but will operate on an intermittent basis, as dictated by product
demand. The size of the area to be worked at any one time is estimated to be 18.9 acres
of land.
It is estimated that Area A will take from 15 to 20 years to mine, depending on
product demand. Reclamation will begin on approximately the south one-half of Area A
when operations in Area B begin. Approximately the north one-half of Area A will be
used to stage primary operations as Mining Areas B and C are mined.
Minin¢ Area B. Mining Area B consists of Parcels 3, and Q and contains
approximately 4.4 acres of land. Area B contains a material bank northwest of the
existing pit, and an azea between the material bank and C % Road that includes land
within 100 feet of the C '/: Road right of way.
Topsoil from Area B will be removed and stockpiled neazby. Overburden will be
removed from Area B and stockpiled nearby or sold. Mining operations in Area B will
be as depicted on the Mining Map.
A thirty to forty-foot high material bank in Area B will be removed and re-graded
so the pit floor after mining will be nearly level with adjacent lands to the north, which
will benefit irrigated farming when reclamation is completed. Applicant proposes to
remove the bank of material without creating a surface depression. It is estimated that
Area B will take from 1 to 3 yeazs to mine, depending on product demand. Reclamation
will begin in Area B when mining begins in Area C.
Minine Area C. Mining Area C (Parcel 2) is adjacent to and north of Pazcel 1
and contains approximately 2 acres. Topsoil in Area C will be removed and stockpiled
nearby. Overburden will be removed and stockpiled neazby or sold. Mining in Area C
will proceed from south to north, as depicted on the Mining Map.
A thirty to forty-foot high material bank in Area C will be removed and re-graded
so the pit floor after mining will be nearly level with adjacent lands to the north to benefit
irrigated farming when reclamation is completed. Applicant proposes to remove the
material bank without creating a sttrface depression. It is estimated that Area C will take
from 1 to 3 yeazs to mine, depending on product demand. Lands in Area C will be
reclaimed when mining activities are completed, as will approximately the northerly one-
half ofArea A.
Approximately three thousand gallons of water per day are required to control
dust during mining and crushing operations. Unpaved portions of haul roads will be
watered to reasonably control dust when hauling occurs.
2
