' on the Visual Berm. The soil was derived from a Piiion\Juniper woodland
and is oP good quality.
' Where soil is to be placed, the minimum depth will be about 4 to 6
inches. When end dumping soil, it is difficult to control the actual depth
' directly, but experience at the Pikeview Quarry showed that In mast
instances the depth placed is amazingly uniform. Over very rough and
' rocky surfaces the soil depth tends to be variable. In the placement of
the soil, irrespective oP the substrate type and texture, no efforts wll.l be
' made to produce a smooth surface. On the cut slopes along the Plke~~iew
Quarry Road (slopes of about 1.5:1 or steeper) excellent vegetation was
' established by leaving the graded surface rough and promptly seedin; it.
As these Pill slopes are in a similar topographic situation it is reascned
that a similar approach should be used here to insure maximum success.
' III. REVEGETATION: SURFACE DISTURBANCES: Revegetation of the
disturbed areas will occur in two stages. The first stage will be the
seeding and establishment of a perennial grass and forb cover using a
seed mixture appropriate to the site and capable of producing fast and
thick growth. This is necessary to create a rapid protection of the site
' against erosion. The seed mixture to be used is as follows:
' SNYDER ROADSIDE DISTURBANCES SEED MIXTURE
(Based on a Broadcast Rate)
----------------------------
-------
----------

' , ----------------------------
SPECIES lb/acre -------
seed/lb ----------
seeds/sgft
INTERMEDIATE WHEAT.
