RE-VEGETATION -The intent ofthe re-vegetation is the establishm ent of plant Comm unities consistent with the
post-mine land use. After topsoil replacement, seed bed preparation and stabil¢ation will be conducted and will
include one of the following: ripping, disking, harrowing and/or furrowing. Because of the phased fashion in
which the site is mined and reclaimed it will allow for continuous analysis of re-vegetation success. This will
allow determining the best type of preparation that should be used. Two separate types of re-vegetation will be
conducted: Type "A" seeding is an agricultural type of seed mix for the pd floor. Side slopes will be re-
vegetated using a Type "B" seed mix consisting of native varies, interspersed with shrubs.
Seeding recommendations, contained within the initial application, follow:

Habitat ~ ~-

Plants ecies"
PLS
Ib/acre
Scientific Name Common Name
Grasses Bromus biebersteinii :Meadow brome 7.00
Da us Iomerata 'Orchard Grass Potomac & dawn 0.50
Phleum ratense Timoth 0.25
Lolium erenne i Perennial rass 1.50
Sub-total 9.25
Forbs Medics o sativa Alfalfa 1.50
Tdfolium ratense :Red clover 1.25
Sub-total 2.75
TOTAL •, 12.00

Habitat
Plants
ecies" PLS Ib/acre
Scientific Name Common Name
Shrubs ;Artemisia tddentat ssp.
Vase ana :Mountain big sagebrush 0.12
': Ch sothammnus nauseosus i Rubber rabitbrush 0.12
i Purshia tridentate Bitterbrush 0.12
:Rosa woodsii :Woods rose 0.25
Sub-total ' 0.61
Subshrubs ~ Artemisia frigida 1 Fringed sage 0.06
Erio onumumbellatum i Sul hurflower 0.25
Mahonia repens :Oregon ra a 0.25
Sub-total 0.56
Grasses A ro on smtthii Westem wheat rass 1.00
Agropyrontrachycaulum Slenderwheatgrass 1.00
{ Festuca idahoensis :Idaho fescue 0.12
Festuca rubs :Red fescue 0.12
i Koeleda macrantha Junegrass 0.06
O o sis h menoides Indian ri rass 1
Poa sandbergii ~ Sandberg bluegrass 0.10
Sttanion h sVoc S uimettail 0.50
Sti a viddula :Green need) rass 0.50
Sub-total 4.40
Forbs ;Achilles lanulosa !Western yarrow 0.12
Balsamorh¢a sa ittata Amowleaf balsamroot 0.25
I.
