Asahalt Plant Maintenance & Saill Control
An asphalt waste pile will be used to store reject asphalt and any hot mix asphalt (HMA) spills.
This pile will be placed in the norkhwest corner of the United property adjacent to the truck
scales and classroom, out of the floodplain and 15' away from ground water to prevent any
contamination. When that area of the United property is mined, the asphalt waste will all be
hauled off-site to the Railhead Site for storage. No topsoil will be stockpiled within the vicinity
of the asphalt waste site. A 1' tall berm will surround the waste asphalt pile site. From this
location, the material may be hauled off site to an approved disposal area.
Weekly inspections will be performed to insure that any and all spills or reject asphalt has been
cleaned up. Loaders will transport both the reject asphalt and any spilled HMA to the asphalt
waste site. This site is shown on Map C-3.
The asphalt plant azea will be kept clear of debris and other waste.
IS Road Pit February 07 D-12
