RECLAMATION PLAN EXHIBIT E
1. General Reclamation Plan
The reclamation plan will create lakes with wetland fringes and shelves for wildlife habitat,
which is the primary post mining land use. Four lakes will be created; three of the four will be
interconnected through a series of culverts. Pillars of approx. 10,000 square feet each left behind
in Pits 3 & 4 are backfilled along the sides to create a natural shore line. A maximum of 20
pillars will be left behind. The pillar azeas will be used as building sites for commercial use. Pits
2-4 will have a small wetland fringe azound them, while Pit 1 will have large wetland shelves on
the north and south ends. All lakes will have slopes of 3H:1 V. Maps F-1 and F-2 show the final
configuration of the site. Map C-4 shows cross sections of the site for current, mining and
reclamation cases.
Assuming no pillazs are left for the post-mine use of commercial lands, the breakdown of post-
mining land use is as follows:
- lake surface: 138.55 acres
- wetlands: 17.27 acres
- dryland flat and slope areas: 44.32 acres
-miscellaneous undisturbed easements, etc. 28.97 acres
Total area: 229.54 acres
If a reasonable amount of pillars aze left for commercial use, the following breakdown of post-
mining land use applies:
- lake surface: 118.55 acres
- commercial use 20,00 acres
- wetlands: 17.27 acres
- dryland flat and slope areas: 44.32 acres
- miscellaneous undisturbed easements, etc. 28.97 acres
Total area: 229.54 acres
I S Road Pit February 07
E-1
