1
' June 19, 1987
The report prepared by AAI, was titled "Stability Assessment Final Cut
' Outline, Mr. And Mrs. J. Schmahl, Parcel A, Unaweep Canyon". An nalysis of
the stability of highwall was made for the interim and proposed final c figuration
' conditions. We did not identify highwall stability concerns on revi w of this
' document.
1
tSITE CONDITIONS
' A Geotechnical Engineering Group, Inc, representative visited the
' Unaweep Quarry site on November 8 and December 13, 2000. We obc erved the
highwall area and embankment area. Observation of the highwall indicated
' areas of active talus and fractured rock. The top of the highwall was ot served to
' be near vertical and about 110 feet in height (measured using tape easure).
' Several benches (10 to 25 feet horizontal) were noted below the face ith near
vertical drops and 1 or talus piles in between. A 3 foot tall berm wa located
' approximately 150 down slope of the highwall. The highwall area was c mposed
' of igneous rock. The majority of the wall was massive granite with rr icaceous
intrusions. The rock face was generally rubblized.
1
Rhino Engineering,Inc.
' Unaweep Quarry
GEG Job No.593 4
