Mid-Continent/Pitkin Iron and BLM would resolve
the disputed ownership of the previously quarried material on the
basis that Pit]cin Iron would remove the material over a 5 year
period, with payment to BLM of a royalty in the amount of $.75
per cubic yard.
5. The appeal would be withdrawn.
H.ealematiaa.
In keeping with our diacuasion at the April meeting, we
have done further evaluation of the existing reclamation plan and
believe it to be essentially sound, and a good plan for
reclamation of this site. under the circumstances, it would be
neither wise nor prudent for Mid-Continent Resources, the permit
holder, to maze commitments which would result in an increase in
the cost of reclamation and the amount of the bond, and we see ao
genuine reclamation benefit in doing so.
SLM hoe indicated some concern with reclamation of the
road®, specifically that the cut slopes be stabilized and
adequate cross drainages be provided, consistent with the natural
drainage patters. We believe these can be addressed within the
scope of the current reclamation plan sad bond amount by a
clarification that Chia ie intended- Specifically, we would
agree:
Reclamation of haul reads 1 & 2 should include
installation of awalee and/or rolling dips, to be
armored with rack material on-site, where the roads
cross drainages.
est/Noeeieez
06/28/95 14:18 TX/RX N0.0344 P.002
