MottiCe
June 27, 1996
Page - 3
To the extent practicable, cut elopes will be
revegetated, and the road beds ripped and seeded.
This does seem to be consistent with the work already
contemplated in the existing permit and bond calculation. The
permit 11ete roads as follows:
Road #i 1950'x60' - 2.7 acres
Road #2 2100'x40' - 1.9 acres
Access Road 600'x25' - O.a acres
The bond calculation of Road #1 includes construction
of water bars and application of seed snd seedlings to the entire
2.7 acres, which does include the cut algpa because that number
is based oa a 60' width, whereas the width of the roadbed
averages 35'. The fill elope(s) are already well vegetated and
would not require additional seeding unless,re-dieturbnd.
Water bare were intended to provide cross drainage, oa
the basis that 8LM wished to keep some access to the area; if
not, then cross drainage should be accomplished with a
combination of water bare, plus rolling dips and swalea at major
drainage. Oa-site material Could then be used to armor the dips
and awalea, ae neaeasary. Material thus excavated in the
construction of these drainage structures would be placed against
the base of the cut elopes, to aid in revegetation.
The bond calculation for Haul Road #2 also assumes
application of seeds sad seedlings to the cut elope, as, the bond
calculation is based on a 40' width, wheraaa the average width
of the roadbed is 22'. Also, the bond is calculated far Area B,
which includes this road, on `placing fines and dowaslope
materials againsit banks and highwall. Also, re-
establishing drainage channels to both aides o:E the storage
area."
Pit/Npccicr7
06/28/95 19:18 TX/RX N0.0344 P.003.
