EXHIBIT C-IA (CONTINUED)
The amended site can be divided into the following three basic areas:
1. The south 250t', 5f acre, portion of the permit area abutting 88th Avenue south of the Wyco
Pipeline and west of an existing home on the property to the east. This is the only portion of
the property abutting 88th Avenue. It is utilized as pastureland. Soils in this area are Loamy
Alluvial Land, moderately wet (Lw). The conveyor from the mining operation to the south
traverses along the west boundary of this area. This portion of the property is designated as
Area 1 on the MINING PLAN (EXHIBIT C-2) AND RECLAMATION PLAN (EXHIBIT
F) MAPS. The mining/reclamation plan for this area is not changed with this Amendment 91.
Structures within 200' of this portion of the mining area that are not under the ownership or
control of the applicant are: (1) the Wyco Pipeline; (2) two homes and other miscellaneous
structures including several power poles on two parcels to the east of this proposed mining
area; and (1) 88th Avenue with approximately 24' of paved road, underground utilities, and
several power poles within the 88th Avenue right-of-way.
An agreement was reached with Wyco on setback, conditions of mining, etc., from their
pipeline. A copy of this agreement is contained in Appendix I. On the other structures, the
required setbacks and the final sloping insure the stability of these structures. An opinion by
a registered engineer to this effect is also contained in Appendix I, as is an additional opinion
that the installation of the slurry wall should have no affect on these structures by the same
registered engineer. In the original application process, all of these owners of structures
within 200' were notified on all aspects of the mining operation and none objected.
2. The second and largest portion of the amended permit area is 151f acres, and includes the
additional 10+ acre area. This portion is bounded by the Wyco Pipeline to the South Platte
River on the north and west, and the Bull Seep Ditch and adjacent property on the east. This
area is utilized for irrigated and non-irrigated cropland, pastureland, and other non-farmed or
pastured area along the South Platte River. There are also several tenant homes and on-site
power poles in this area, which will be removed with mining. The conveyor from the mining
operation to the south traverses across the western portion of the this portion of the amended
permit area roughly parallel to the South Platte River until it crosses the River to connect to
the plant to the north when the river turns east-west. Soils in this area are Loamy Alluvial
Land, gravelly substratum (Lv) , Loamy Alluvial Land, moderately wet (Lw), Sandy Alluvial
Land(Sm), and Wet Alluvial Land (Wt). This portion of the property is designated as Areas
2A(South Platte River and Berm Area) and 213 and are shown on the MINING PLAN MAP
(EXHIBIT C-2), and as the "Water Reservoir and River Channel" area on the
RECLAMATION PLAN MAP, EXHIBIT F.
Page 2, EXHBIT C-1A
