Water, Waste & Land, Inc. Statement of Qualifications
_ • 14
Oro Cruz Project (American Girl Mining Joint Venture) Winterhaven, California
Water, Waste & Land, Inc. assisted in preparation of the EIS for expansion of the
American Girl Project in southeast California. Input to the EIS was in groundwater
hydrology, surface water hydrology, and mine waste geochemistry.
Ground Water Compliance Plan (Rio Grande Resources) Hobson, Texas
After a complete review of the existing monitoring program and data collected in
the past, Water, Waste & Land, Inc. prepared a plan for achieving compliance with ground
water protection regulations promulgated by the State of Texas. A second report
addressing concerns of the regulatory agency and outlining a plan to obtain additional
geologic and hydrogeologic data was also prepared. A drilling program i$ currently in
process to allow ground water affected by seepage from the urarhium tailings
impoundment to be delineated. Future work will include a full evaluation df the current
remedial action plan and recommendations for additional remediation to ensure
compliance with regulations.
Water Supply Wells (Wyoming Water Development Commission) Wyomingi
As a subcontractor to another consulting firm, WWL was responsible for evaluating
the suitability of ground water for municipal water supplies for two commwnities in the
state of Wyoming. At each location, a test well was installed to evaluate water
production zones and to obtain samples for water quality analyses. R~sults of the
exploration phase of the project indicated that a suitable supply of water was available
and the second phase of installing and testing production wells was performed by WWL.
Unsaturated Flow Modeling INRCI
Documentation and training courses for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Low
Level Waste Management (WMLL) branch were prepared for three unsatiurated flow
models: UNSAT2 lby Shlomo P, Neuman) and GS2 and GS3 iby Genevieve $egoq. This
project included converting the programs to ANSI standard FORTRAN-77, preparing a
user's manual, and presenting a training course on the use of these models to the staff
of WMLL.
Idarado Project (Idarado Mining Company) Telluride, Colorado
Water, Waste & Land, Inc. developed a detailed surface and ground water
monitoring program to support CERCLA litigation filed by the State of Colorpdo against
Idarado Mining Company. Surface water sampling was conducted older a large
geographical area. Samples were collected for laboratory analyses od inorganic
constituents, metals and cyanide under a comprehensive Quality AssurancelQuality
Control program. Supervision of installation of monitoring wells and collection of solid
samples during drilling was performed by WWL personnel. Ground water quality samples
