Water, Waste & Land, Inc. Statement of qualifications
15
were also collected by WWL. Available data were interpreted and expert testimony was
provided by WWL personnel.
Underground Gasoline Tank Leak (Buchanan, Gray, Purvis & Schuetze! Ft. Collins, CO
Water, Waste & Land, Inc. defined the existing and potential groundwater
contamination in a residential area caused by the leakage of underground gasoline tanks.
We evaluated the hydrogeology of the site with respect to hydrocarbon contamination.
This work included monitoring or predicting the occurrence, distributioh, migration,
containment and removal potential of the liquid, dissolved, and vapor hydrocarbon phases
present in the fluvial subsurface system. We also evaluated possible remediation plans.
Hazardous Waste Site (Colorado State University) Fort Collins, Colorado
Water, Waste & Land, Inc. provided assistance in surface and ground water
hydrology in evaluation of the Colorado State University hazardous waste site and in
design of its closure plan. Work included evaluation of drilling data, conducting field and
laboratory testing, and analysis of data. We are in the process of assisting with
delineation of an organic chemical plume in the vicinity of the site. Additional monitoring
wells are being installed and along-term pumping test will be performed to evaluate
potential vertical migration of ground water.
Gasoline Spill Site Investigations (Kodak Colorado Division) Windsor, Colorado
Water, Waste & Land, Inc. developed and implemented a site investiga ion program
in the vicinity of two leaking underground storage tanks. The tanks wer~ located on
farmsteads recently purchased by Kodak and had contained gasoline. The site
investigation included installation of approximately 25 boreholes to delineate the extent
of soil contamination and completion of five monitoring wells to allow dissolved
concentrations of gasoline constituents to be monitored. The extent of soil contamination
was determined but water quality samples reveal that the spill is not affecting ground
water quality down gradient of the tank locations. Ground water monitoring is continuing
at the two sites.
Solvent Spill Remediation (Kodak Colorado Division) Windsor, Colorado
During filling of an underground storage tank for organic solvent, a s all quantity
of solvent was spilled. Water, Waste & Land, Inc. developed a plan for investigating the
extent of the spill, collected samples to allow a remediation plan to be developbd and then
implemented the remediation plan. Personnel from WWL supervised I'emoval of
contaminated soil, performed field screening of soils to minimize disposal of non-
contaminated soil, and collected samples to verify concentrations in soils sent offsite for
disposal. Post remediation monitoring was also performed to ensure that ground water
had not been affected by the spill.
