<br /> <br />Roads - The Haul/access road into the minesite is an existing <br />structure. No certification is necessary at this time. <br />Coal mine waste - In the past, coal mine waste was being <br />deposited in a "temporary" location in the south-east portion <br />of. the permit. Because disposal was approved as being <br />temporary no certifications were required. Recently, the <br />disposal of coal mine lJdSte on this permit has been approved <br />as permanent storage. Therefore, quarterly certifications will <br />now be required as per the Colorado approved Program. <br />Subsidence monitoring: Monitoring conducted on 4-15-92. No <br />evidence of new subsidence. <br />Recent permitting actions: Permit Renewal finalized on 8-18-92 <br />Pending permitting actions: None <br />FIELD REVIEW <br />Signs and Markers: Mine identification sign is posted with all <br />applicable information. Perimeter Markers are in place and are <br />being maintained. <br />Hydrologic system: <br />Siltation structures - Sediment control is provided by two <br />ponds known as the East and West ponds. Both structures were <br />being cleaned and the spillways were being reconstructed so as <br />to provide a combination of principal and emergency outlets. <br />As stated above, once the reconstrur_tion is done the ponds <br />will need to be re-certified. <br />Diversions - The clean water diversion located in the Eastern <br />section of the permit has been reconstructed so as to allow <br />for the expansion of the coal mine waste disposal area. This <br />area needs to be monitored to assure erosion does not occur. <br />The clean water diversion on the West side of the operation is <br />well vegetated and stable. <br />Culverts - The internal culverts and grates are open and <br />functional. Drainage from these structures is directed to the <br />sedimentation ponds. <br />Naul/Access roads: The road, whir.h is i.n the permit area, is <br />an existing structure. It is surfaced lJ1tI1 a durable material <br />and is well maintained. Peri.od.ic watering is utilized to <br />control fugitive dust. <br />Topsoil: Because surface disturbance for this operation was <br />done pre-SMCRA no topsoil was salvaned. However, the current <br />permit indicates that a h~~rroa aroma lo!-?*cd to the East of the <br />s <br />
