<br />Battle Mountain Gold <br />NOPV Abatement Requirements <br />page 6 <br />(9) Modification of Environmental Monitoring Plan: <br />BMG shall modify its environmental monitoring plan to include direct <br />monitoring of the cyanide and metals content of the tailings slurry and <br />liquids. Within 15 days following the cyanide detoxification of the <br />tailings area contents, described in item (4), BMG shall submiil sampling <br />methodology, sampling locations and sampling protocol for tailiings <br />cyanide and metals content monitoring to the Division for reviHw and <br />approval. <br />Further, BMG shall appropriately modify its entire environment 1 <br />monitoring plan, including ground and surface water, air, and rocessing <br />circuit monitoring, to reflect all modifications completed in compliance <br />with these NOV abatement requirements. These modifications shall be <br />submitted in connection with the various permit revision appliclations. <br />Status: Satisfied - BMG has committed to the submittal of a revised <br />monitoring program in a letter of April 16, 1992. <br />Deadlines: Submit permanent modifications to monitoring of the cyanide <br />and metals content of the tailings slurry and liqui s, no <br />later than 15 days following cessation of CYTOX tre tment; at <br />the latest July 9, 1992, as permit modification. <br />Submit modifications to its entire environmental mohitoring <br />plans in connection with various permit modificatioh <br />applications, as appropriate. <br />(10) Adjustment of Financial Assurance: <br />As required by statute and regulation, any permit amendment or revision <br />approval will entail reevaluation of the cost of the entailed reclamation <br />components. BMG will be required to appropriately adjust its s}~rety to <br />reflect any change in reclamation cost. Any permit amendment ol- <br />technical revision application submitted by BMG shall include ap <br />appropriate evaluation of the implications of the requested plah <br />modifications for the reclamation cost. <br />Status: Satisfied - BMG has agreed to comply in letter of April 16, 1992. <br />Deadline: Submit surety reevaluation as a portion of all permit <br />modification applications. <br />(11) "Critical Path" Project Management Schedule: <br />Common methodology and practices may serve more than one abatem~nt plan <br />task. Multiple tasks may occur simultaneously and may impose s gnificant <br />simultaneous performance burdens on BMG and the Division. In odder to <br />
