June 24, 2003 -17- 003-2203.7
I • The I-NSCS riser piping system consists of four vertical risers with 24-inch outside diameter (O.DJ
by 0.375-inch wall thickness carbon steel piping. Stainless steel Type 304 standazd flow shutter
screens with 0.25-inch slots, 10-foot minimum open screen section, 24-inch O.D. by 0.375-inch wall
manufactured by Roscoe Moss were installed as part of each vertical riser (IFC Drawing 23,
Detai[ 6).
Ames installed schedule 40 steel inlet pipe to connect the primary solution collection system piping to
the vertical risers (IFC Drawing 23, Detail 2). A 26-inch diameter DRl l HDPE perforated pipe was
used as an equalizer pipe to connect the primary solution collection pipes at the entrance to the PSSA
sump and to connect each riser. Ames installed approximately 35 linear feet of 26-inch diameter
DRl l HDPE perforated equalizer pipe.
Each FJVSCS riser foundation consists of a 10-foot by 10-foot by 1-inch steel base plate, a layer of
conveyor belting, 3-inch thick closed cell foam, Geocomposite Clay Liner (GCL), 100-mil smooth
LLDPE geomembrane, and 12 ounce per yard non-woven geotextile. Ames installed approximately
400 square feet of each of these components.
Ames installed approximately 1,9611inear feet of 4-inch diameter PCPE Tertiary HVSCS pipe;
441 lineaz feet of 8-inch diameter, 4101inear feet of 10-inch diameter, 280 linear feet of 12-inch
diameter, and 1,129 linear feet of 15-inch diameter PCPE Secondary HVSCS pipe; and 3,491 linear
feet of 26-inch diameter perforated DRl l I-IDPE Primary HVSCS Pipe.
Ames began installing the PCPE HVSCS pipes in May 2003, and completed in June 2003. Pipe
locations are shown on Record Drawing No. 8 in Appendix A. Pipe sections were connected to each
other using couplings. Laborers haunched pipes with DCF and kept pipes in place during DCF
placement.
A network of 4-inch Tertiary FIVSCS pipes were installed at approximately 100 feet on-center at a
minimum 2 percent grade, draining to the larger Secondary PCPE HVSCS pipes. Four-inch Tertiary
HVSCS pipe sections were connected to each other using couplings, and were attached to the
Secondary HVSCS pipe using ties. Laborers haunched pipes with DCF and kept pipes in place
during DCF placement.
•
xnoo~zxos~aomFmc~~ess~osomooxzzoa.oaoo.o~wrs.o.a« Golder Associates
