Ames processed
SDCF during the month of February 2003. Ames processed the borrow material through a crusher mill
and screening plant and temporarily stockpiled the SDCF material at their crusher yazd for haulage.
Ames placed approximately 3,500 cubic yards of SDCF in the PSSA. SDCF was placed in a
minimum 2-foot thick lift around the vertical risers, 3 feet beyond the extents of the vertical risers.
Ames placed SDCF in a horizontal lift within the PSSA sump.
2.12 Drain Cover Fill
Ames began placing DCF in the Phase IVb PSSA in September 2002, and completed placement in
June 2003. Ames processed DCF from August 2002 to June 2003 by screening Pad No. 4 material
and crushed Cresson Ore over a vibrating one and one-half inch screen to remove oversize material
from the borrow source. Ames placed approximately 85,552 cubic yards of DCF in the PSSA. DCF
was placed in a minimum 2-foot thick lift over the geomembrane and in a 10-foot thick lift where
• Caterpillar 777 haul trucks traveled over the geomembrane. During fill placement, PVC grade markers
were placed at grade breaks and on a maximum 50-foot by 50-foot grid. After DCF placement, PVC
grade makkers were removed, and Ames performed any additional grading required. Ames placed DCF
in an uphill direction on any slopes steeper than 4H:1 V.
r 1
LJ
L\00\2303\0~001pnICertP55A0603\003330J.0000.00303Rep.doc Golder Associates
