Mr. Kpnt Gorham
November 16, 1994
Page 13
Springs & Ponds 28, 12-4, 16:
Springs & Ponds 28, 12-4, and 16 are all located outside the zone of potential
subsidence impacts under the can rently approved mine plan. A sufficient
hydrology database consisting of flow, water level, field parameter, and water
quality information had been established far each of these locations prior to
1993 to define the pre-mining hydrology at these sites. Rsing 1993, no new
mining activities with the potential of creating detectable impacts oocui-red in
the vicinity of any of these sites.
Currently these springs are not required to be monitored further. Zhey have all
been permanently suspended from the monitarimg network. As compared to current
requirements, no monitoring anissions oocarrred during 1993.
Spring & Porn 17:
Spring & Pond 17 lies Outside the area of any potential mining impacts. Minim
in the closest prYnrim;ty to this site took place in January 1985 approximately
7200 feet distant froth the site. A sufficient hydrology database consisting of
flora, water level, field ~,-a„wtp,-, and water quality information had been
established far this location priar to 1993 to define the pre-mining hydrology at
this site. During 1993, rto new mining activities with the potential of areatirg
detectable impacts oaart:2'ed in the vicinity of this site.
Currently this spring is required to be monitored quarterly for flows arri field
parameters; annually far water quality. his monitoring is required only as a
result of this feature's standing as an adjudicated water right within the permit
area. No mine related impacts can reasonably be expected to occiu~ at this site
order the clurently approved mine plan. As oa~ared to un.-rent requirements,
five monitoring ®n;~~ions occurred during 1993; four flow and field parameter
visits were not aoca[q~lished in 1993 and the rg~,ired annual water quality sample
was sniffed. Zhese ottussions are teetered by this site's remote location with
respect to any mining activity and the presettce of the established database.
Springs & Ponds 29, 6-4 and Spring 1-3:
Springs & Fords 29 and 6-4 std Spring 1-3 are all located outside the zone of
potential subsidence impacts under the usrently approved mine plan. A
sufficient hydrology database consisting of flow, water level, field parameter,
and water quality information had been established far each of these locations
prior to 1993 to define the pre-mining hydrology at these sites. During 1993, no
new mining activities with the potential of creating detectable impacts occurred
in the vicinity of any of these sites.
Currently these springs are not required to be monitored further. matey have all
been pernartesrtly ~+~*+a~ fry the monitoring network. As oca~gtared to atrrent
requirements, no monitoring csnit~ions ooasred during 1993.
