Phase IVb W'eekh~ Summan No. 28 Pase? 00.-2?0~
Ames resumed excavation of the Phase I~b OSA eeomembrane anchor trench on the Phase III ore
slope. excavatins approximateh 300 linear feet of anchor trench in preparation for eeomembrane
deploy~rtent. Ames also excavated approximateh 2~0 feet of anchor trench on the north side of Phase
IVb in preparation for geosynthetics deplo~~rrrent.
Ames backfilled approximately 300 linear feet of Phase I~'b OSA anchor trench on the Phase III ore
slope.
arses uncovered Drain Cover Fill (DCF) in areas damaeed by erosion over areas of previoush installed
~emembrane and at tie-in areas, where material had washed in from rainfall.
Ames placed. and compacted SLF materal into Lhe Phase TVb OSA on the sout<'t slope of Substation
Hill and dte south slope of Raven Hill (-west of the LOB). SLF material was worked. tested. and passed
per project specifications prior to SLF surface acceptance.
Ames continued placement of Hiatt Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) secondary and
tertiary piping within the Phase IVb OSA limits, followed by DCF haul and placement per project
specifications. Ames continued to haul and place DCF in the Phase Nb OSA, on the west and south-
facing slopes of Substation Hill and on the Phase IlI ore slope.
:9rrles continued production of DCF at the screen plant located near the Secondary Crusher. Antes also
continued limited production of SLF.
Ames installed the upper 200 feet of the 14-inch Lott' Volume Solution Collection Sysiem (T VSCS)
aser pipes in fire 2H.1 V riser *sench. P.mes fusion welded the upper pipe sections. and placed Low
Volume Solution Collection Fill (LVSCF) in the riser trench.
Poly-Flex resumed and completed deplo~rteni of 80-mil double-sided textured LLDPF ~eome.~,braae
in the Phase 1Vb OSA in the 2H:1V LVSCS riser trench above previously-placed LVSCF. Poly-Flex
deployed 80-mil double-sided tex2urcd LLDPE geomembrarte over an azea of approximately 4.627
squae feet in the Phase IVb OSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane panels B-662 through B-
664 were deployed, seamed, and tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive extrusion seam sample D~'_b-41 wzc
marked and removed. Destructive extntsion seam creel and shear tests on D~'b-41 passed per proie;:t
SpeCIflCatlOnS.
Poh-Flex continued deplo«nent of 80-mil singles sided tex-itrred LLDPE geomembrane.in the Phase
i3%b OSA on the west-facins slope of Substation Hili. Poiv-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided texnared
LLDPE aeomembrane over an area of approximately 36_?32 square feet in the Phase IVb OSA during
this reporting period. Geomembrane panels B-6d8 through B-661. and B-66S through B-674 were
deployed, seamed. and tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam samples DFb-i 57
throuatt DFb-177. DFb-186 throuelt DFb-189_ and DXb-.~ through DXb-38 were marked and
removed. DFb-i57 failed to meet project specifrcation and additional destructive simples (DFb-1~7ai
and DF'o-1~Tb1) ~-ere taken across approximately ~1 linear f et ofrusion weld u.-ttil passing conditions
were met. The delineated failure across the seaming length was capped and extrusion welded. The
results of testing on destructive fusion samples DFb-] 86 through DFb-189 are pending.
