Mr. Tom Schreiner <br />RE: Warranty Release Request -Pit No. 1 <br />May 72, 2005 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />• No drill or auger holes were part of the mining operations and no adits or shafts were <br />created. <br />• No significant slopes were left on the site. ,Pit slopes and the pit floor aze appropriate for <br />use as industriaUcommercial. <br />• The reclamation choice for industriaUcommercial will not require that the area be plowed, <br />planted and mowed. Therefore, the area has not been graded so fazm machinery can <br />traverse the area when needed. <br />• Structural fill was not used to backfill the excavated pit. <br />• Material that could potentially cause unauthorized releases of pollutants to the surface <br />drainage system was not mined or disposed of within the affected azea. <br />• No unauthorized release of pollutants to groundwater occurred from materials mined or <br />handled within the permit area. -- - <br />All backfilling and grading was done as mining progressed. Final grading and slope stabilization <br />was completed in 2005 after the completion of mining activities. <br />3.1.6 Water -General Requirements <br />Disturbances to the prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land and surrounding azea were <br />minimized. <br />• The operator has complied with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations <br />governing injury to ex. fisting water rights. <br />• The operator has complied with applicable federal and Colorado water quality laws and <br />regulations, including statewide water quality standards and site-specific classifications <br />and standards adopted by the Water Quality Control Commission. <br />• The operator has complied with all applicable federal and Colorado dredge and fill <br />requirements. <br />• No temporary or permanent siltation structures were constructed. <br />• No dams were constructed in conjunction with this permit. ' <br />• All surface areas of the affected land were stabilized to control erosion. <br />3.1.7 Groundwater <br />The operator has complied with applicable groundwater quality standards in effect during mining <br />operations and reclamation activities at the site. <br />3.1.8 Wildlife <br />The azea mined was not considered prime wildlife habitat, however, all aspects of mining and <br />reclamation took into account the safety and protection of wildlife. <br />• Mining and reclamation activities did not disturb existing wildlife species that require <br />special consideration on or neaz the site. <br />• Wildlife habitat creation was not a part of the reclamation plan. <br />
