DEPARTMENT OF 7HE ARMY <br />U.S. ARMY ENGINEER DISTRICT, SACRAMENTO <br />CORPS OF ENGINEERS <br />1325 J STREET <br />nEV~Tro SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA 95814-2922 <br />ATTENTION OF <br />REGIONAL GENERAL PERMIT NUMBER GP-004 <br />STATE OF COLORADO <br />DISCHARGES FOR ROAD CROSSINGS <br />Effective Date: <br />July 1, 1994 <br />Expiration Date: <br />Julp 1, 199 9 <br />The District Engineer, Corps of Engineers, Sacramento <br />District hereby re-issues Statewide Regional General Permit <br />number GP-004 fora period of five years. This germit authorizes <br />- the discharge of dredged material, including excavation, and fill <br />material, not to exceed 500 cubic yards, below the plane of the <br />ordinary high water mark, in waters of the United States within <br />the State of Colorado, when this is used in the construction of <br />road crossings including, but not limited to, bridge abutments, <br />culverts, bank protection ai-d approaches. The permit also <br />authorizes a maximum of 500 cubic yards of temgorarv fill for <br />cofferdams or other temporary fills required for the construction <br />of road crossings such as detours. The placement of material in <br />wetlands is authorized where the maximum length in wetlands at <br />any road crossing is 250 linear feet and maximum area of wetlands <br />filled at any one crossing does not exceed one acre (temporary <br />and permanent fills. <br />Typical drawings depicting the kinds of activities <br />authorized under this permit are attached to this permit. <br />Projects which do not meet the terms and conditions of this <br />permit will need an individual Department of the Army permit <br />prior to the commencement of work. This regional general permit <br />is issued under the authority of Section 404 of the Clean Water <br />Act. <br />NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES: Anyone proposing to perform work <br />authorized by this permit must provide the following information <br />to the Corps of Engineers prior to beginning work: <br />1. Name, address and telephone number of the party <br />responsible for the work and the owner of the affected land if <br />different than the responsible party. <br />2. A complete description of the work including the <br />composition, source and volume in cubic yards of all temporary <br />and permanent material proposed for discharge; delineation, type <br /> <br />1 <br />
