6?.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING -- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS <br />FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS. <br />C~ <br />2.05.3 Operation Plan - Permit Area contd. <br />(3)(c)cont'd. <br />RA-14), No other revisions to the existing coal handl- <br />ing structures would he required. <br />(4) - (4)(d) No change. <br />(5) As the rock slope entries would be faced-up in existing <br />cut slopes, no topsoil is available for removal and <br />storage. A narrow strip of oakbrush across the slope <br />above the proposed belt and intake portals sites indi- <br />cates undisturbed soils may exist. Should the portals <br />construction extenA into this veyetated area, the "A" <br />and "B" horizons, approximately 24-inches of soil would <br />be removed and stored as topsoi 1 . The areas of fi 11 <br />foundations would also he stripped of topsoil, if any, <br />.and prepared for fill placement. Topsoil would be re- <br />moved, stored, and redistributed as described in Sec- <br />tion 2.05.3(5) of the existing approved permit. <br />(6) - (U)(c)(iv) <br />• Nn change. <br />(9) Excess rock mined from the rock slope entries would be <br />used to construct a ramp to the proposed belt and in- <br />take portals, to backfill the sealed ventilation shafts <br />and to partially backfill and reclaim the existing por- <br />tal and parkiny lot levels. Designs of the rock slope <br />portals and fills were prepared by Golder Associates, <br />Cbll consultant (see attached). <br />Refer to Section 2.04.6(2) of this technical revision <br />application for discussions of overburden analyses. <br />(10 - (10)(e) No change. <br />2.05.4 Reclamation Plan <br />(1) No change. <br />(2)(a) The existing time table for final abandonment and rec- <br />lamation of the Orchard Valley Mine would not be af- <br />fected, though the existing portal level and parking <br />lot above the crushing and screening level would be <br />partially hackfilled and reclaimed during construction <br />of the rock slope entries. Interim reclamation of the <br />rock slope entries and rock fills would he completed in <br />• the Spring or Fall following construction, whichever is <br />soonest.
