As the shafts <br />would he filled, a concrete cap and vent pipe proposed <br />in the existing permit would not be required. The ex- <br />isting portal level access road would be cut approxi- <br />mately four feet for a length of approximately 160 feet <br />near the proposed intake portal and Cut approximately <br />five feet for a length of approximately 140 feet near <br />the proposed return portal, allowing room for traffic <br />at the new portals. A rock fill would he constructed <br />on the existing portal and parking lot levels backfill- <br />ing the cut slopes per existing approved final configu- <br />ration designs. <br />Refer to the Golder Associates designs for specific in- <br />formation regardiny the rock tunnels portals, cuts and <br />fills construction. <br />(3)(a) Little change in the surface facilities of the Orchard <br />• Valley Mine would he required for the rock tunnels por- <br />tals. Because the location of the belt portal would be <br />different, the belt structure to Transfer Tower #1 <br />(TT#1) and the TT#1 itself would he altered for the new <br />helt alignment (see Map BA-14, attached). The rock <br />dust system located near the existing belt portal would <br />he relocated near TT#1 (see Map SA-13, attached). A <br />magnesium chloride tank which had been located next to <br />the existing intake portal may also he relocated near <br />TT#1. The motor control center (MCC) building would <br />not he affected by the rock fill, but would probably be <br />removed and relocated. Powerlines and waterlines would <br />be rerouted as required. Removal and reclamation of <br />these facilities would remain unchanged from the exist- <br />ing approved reclamation plan, <br />(3)(b) - (3)(b)(ii)(C) <br />No change. <br />(3)(c) The existing portal level access road would be cut near <br />the proposed intake and return portals to allow room <br />for traffic at the new portals.
