(^ <br />III. Comments - Compliance <br />Below are Comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of <br />observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any <br />enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence <br />supporting the enforcement action. <br />All wells seemed to be performing as designed. Ail road culverts were <br />inspected and found to be in compliance Isee maintenance list). <br />All culvets and ditches leading to a designed structure must be placed on <br />a map. .411 such culverts and ditches within the Shop and Gossard Loadout <br />areas should be on Map 12A and their required dimensions given in the <br />permit. More specifics will be given in a followup letter to the <br />operator. <br />Backfilling & Grading <br />Mining of Section 11 area to be completed in November. A11 areas. <br />regraded as permitted. <br />Explosives <br />Explosives storage areas inspected and found to be in compliance. <br />Explosives storage containers should be locked. <br />Facilities <br />Grounds of warehouse area inspected and found to be in compliance. New <br />oil drum storage but under construction near Dozer and Bucket Repair <br />Shop, Loadouts, coal storage and coal crushing facilities inspected and <br />found to be in compliance. All underground tanla have been removed; one <br />new above grcund tank has been added to shop area. These changes made on <br />the gro~rnd should be presented to the Division as a minor revision and <br />changes made to the appropriate pages and maps. <br />Topsoil <br />Coloe:~•o is in the process of stripping topsoil from the area of the <br />Section 16 Fili, as well as, ettensions of the East Pit and dragline <br />travel paths. All areas disturbed are protected by sediment control <br />structures. Topsoil depths taken appear to be in compliance with the <br />regulations. <br />Two new topsoil stockpiles nave been completed (16-C, 16-[31 and are <br />properly signed and broadcast seeded. Topsoil Stockpile 16-A and Section <br />lc Edge Topsoil Stockpile are under constructio~t. .all topsoil stockpiles <br />Hoed to be clearly signed lw'ith as many signs as necessary), seeded and <br />a ditch or sumps dug downslopr in ord:r to protect the resource. <br />Culowpo is contracting out most of the topsoil removal. The operator <br />estimcites that ti~e~• will dis[urb ~3G acres this year. Copscii has been <br />redrstr_buce~i onto tier:tion 11 :u~d Last Pit reclamation. <br /> <br />
