JUN-27-1996 15 50
Mr. Michael S
June 27, 1996
Page - 3
~R7 DELHNEY
Mottice
303 945 2303 P. 03
To the extent practicable, cut slopes will be
revegetated, and the road beds ripped and seeded.
This does seem to be cone
contemplated in the existing permit
permit lists roads as follows:
Road #i 1950'x60'
Road #2 2100'x40'
Access Road 600'x25' -
intent with the work already
and bond calculation. The
- 2.7 acres
- 1.9 acres
o.a acres
The bond calculation of Road #1 includes construction
of water bars and application of seed and seedlings to the entire
2.7 acres, which does include the cut slope because that number
is based on a 60' width, whereas the width of the roadbed
averages 35'. The fill slope(s3 are already well vegetated and
would not require additional seeding unless re-disturbed.
Water bars were intended to provide cross drainage, on
the basis that BLM wished to keep some access to the area; if
not, then cross drainage should be accomplished with a
combination of water bare, plus rolling dips and swales at major
drainage. On-site material could then be used to armor the dips
and swales, ae necessary. Material thus excavated in the
construction of these arainage structures would be placed against
the base of the cut slopes, to aid in revegetatien.
The bond calculation for Haul Road #2 also assumes
application of seeds and seedlings to the cut slope, as the bond
calculation is based on a 40' width, whereas the average width
of the roadbed is 22'. Also, the bond is calculated for Area B,
which includes this road, on `placing fines and downslope
materials againait banks and highwall. Also, re-
establishing drainage channels to both aides of the storage
area.^
P1C/MOttiC03
06/28/95 14:18 TX/RX N0.0394 P.003
