COOLEY RESERVOIR AND FULTON WILDLIFE AREA PIT <br />AMENDMENT NO. 1 - JERONIMUS PROPERTY <br />E%HIBIT D -MINING PLAN (Continued) <br />Topsoil and overburden excavation and stockpiling. For areas that are disturbed, I' of topsoil <br />shall be stripped and stored for later revegetation activities. Topsoil and overburden <br />stockpiles for use in final reclamation activities will be placed in the northeast and southeast <br />corners of the site out of the 100 year floodplain. Temporary topsoil and overburden <br />stockpiles that are placed in the 100 year floodplain area shall be a maximum of 20' in heieht <br />and 100' in width with 100' gaps between 300' long piles, be placed parallel to the S. Platte <br />River's overflow direction, and have a maximum slope of 1 H:1 V. A Floodplain Use Permit <br />from Adams County shall be Adams County for all operations within the floodplain. <br />All topsail and overburden stockpiles that are expected to remain undisturbed for longer than <br />one growing season shall be drilled seeded with Crested Wheatgrass (Emphraim Variety) at <br />a rate of 5 lbs/acre (Cooley Reservoir Mix A from NRCS 01/28/03 letter) to minimize wind <br />and precipitation erosion. For broadcast seeding, this rate shall be doubled. Based on a <br />maximum reclamation need of 10 acres ofnon-wetlands area for revegetation activities, the <br />amount of topsoil stockpiled could be 16,000+_ cubic yards stored in southeast and northeast <br />corners of the site. <br />Any tall grass areas adjacent to existing wetlands that are disturbed shall be revegetated by <br />drill seeded with Tall wheatgrass (Jose Variety) at a rate of 1 1.0 lbs/acre (Cooley Reservoir <br />Mix C from NRCS 01/28/03 letter). <br />Temporary stockpiling of excavated material, particularly any material from below the water <br />table, to allow the draining of water from the material, prior to conveyance to the Plant Site <br />for processing or off-site for use as borrow material. <br />10. If demand warrants, direct hauling of borrow material, and unprocessed aggregate material <br />for use as borrow material, from the entrance onto Brighton Road, subject to the requirement <br />that haul trucks shall cover their loads and appropriate temporary traffic control measures as <br />determined by the Adams County Department of Public Works. <br />11. The filling of lake areas with silt from the wash plant water, backfilling of excavated and <br />stored overburden, recovering disturbed areas with stored topsoil, grading, and planting. <br />Storm water from temporary roads and other disturbed areas will be managed by grading to direct <br />storm water from disturbed areas into the existing lake areas and be contained on site. The existing <br />Storm Water Management Plan (S WMP) and Permit is will be modified to reflect the addition of this <br />property. The Spill Prevention Control Plan for the existing site shall also be followed. A copy of <br />Discharge Permit Approval Letter and the SPCC Plan are included as pages 6 and 7 of this exhibit. <br />
