D. 6. Comment:
When will the south 1/3 of the east waste dump be removed
and when will this dump be stabilized? Please provide a time-
table which includes all mining and associated reclamation
activities.
Cotter Response
The best estimate of work to be done on the south 1/3 of
the east waste dump is that removal of the rock will b=_ com-
pleted by the end of October, 1983. A revised timetable will
be provided in the revised amendment application.
D. 7. Comment:
What is the uranium content of the rock currently being
placed in the waste dumps?
Cotter Response
The rock being placed in the waste dump consists ~f mine
waste and ore sorter reject. The uranium content of the ore
sorter reject, which is a function of market conditions, is
averaging 0.06%.
Further characterization of the weighted average uranium
content in the waste dump will be provided in the revised
amendment application following completion of the water quality
impact study.
D. 8. Comment:
In the original application, it was stated that, "Rock
taken from the ore sorter reject pile containing approximately
.015 uranium or less will be stockpiled at the waste dump
(west dump) at the rate of 2,000 tons/month". This rock con-
taining .015 uranium will comprise approximately 29~ of the
total waste dump volume. Please clearly detail how the ura-
nium content of the ore sorter reject material has fluctuated
-6-
