Phase 1 shall be backfilled with wash
Tines, overburden, and other inorganic, clean fill such as solidified concrete. (See Page 16)
Requirement: Backfilling of Phase f will be done in full consideration of maintaining water
flow to the east, as well as backing up some of [he flow to the west [o help supply 25'" Lane
wells, and ultimately produce an environment suitable for establishing a riparian forest over
much of the Phase 1 area. (See Page 17)
Requirement: A groundwater barrier wall will be installed around Phase 2 as shown on the
maps prior to mining Phase 2. (See Page 19)
Requirement: All dewatering of the Phase 2 area shall be done via the initial pit in the
northeastern corner of Phase 2. Discharge from the initial pit may be into Phase 1 or into the
adjacent existing channel (see next requirement). (See Page 20)
Requirement: If discharge is into the adjacent channel then a series of step dams must be
installed in the channel to reduce water velocity and remove sediment prior to its discharge into
the river in accordance with the standards set forth in the NPDES permit.
