to produce water (as evidenced by water in the pond) with no mine impacts
apparent and conditions in the area unchanged since 1981.
SP 28': Spring & Ford 28 lies outside the area of any potential mining impacts.
The pond was observed in July (3/4 full) with an inflow of 1.3 gpm
oaarrrirg frown the spring. No water quality sample was obtained as a
sufficient water quality database exists for this feature and no potential
mine impacts are reasonably projected to occur at this site. Ztris site
was visited again in August aryl observed (1/3 full) with no mPac~~rahle
flow from the spring. The August observation was omitted from the AHI2.
There is no practical reason to continue monitoring at Spring 28 as no
mine related impacts can reasonably be expected to occur at this site.
SP 7-42: No data was collected from Spring & Pond 7-4 during 1992. This site
overlies an area of the Fast mine idle since 1983. As noted in the 1992
AHR, the wrong field location was being checked for this site. Limited
water quality database exists to characterize water quality at this site
arxi all the samplers were wllected c~~t~n~Pnt to mining in this area.
SP 7-5Z: Spring & Pond 7-5 overlies an area of the Fast mine idle since 1983.
Spring & Porri 7-5 was observed in June (porn full; inflow 0.0010 cfs),
July (pond full; outflow 0.0016 cfs), and August (pond full; no measurable
inflow or outflow). Flow and field parameter maav~iretllents from June were
ornitted from the AHR. June nlI = 8.4; DC = 245; Temo C° = 14. No water
quality sarnples were collected in June from this site as a sufficient
water quality database to characterize water quality at this site exists
and has been compiled since 1983 when mining ceased. No field parameters
were obtained in Auqust as the water in the pond was stagnant.
SP 12-4': Spring & Pond 12-4 lies outside the area of any potential mining ing~acts.
The pond was observed in July (no measurable flow; Pond 1/2 full) and
August (no measurable flow; Pond 1/4 full). No water quality sample was
obtained as no flows were observed. A sufficient water quality database
exists to characterize pre-mining water quality at this site. No further
monitoring was conducted during 1992 as the spring was observed with rro
measurable flows and presumed to remain in this condition throughout the
remainder of the year. The spring was observed to continue to produce
water (as evidenced by water in the pond) with no mine impacts apparent
and conditions in the area unchanged since the inception of monitoring.
There is no practical reason to wntinue monitoring at Pond & Spring 12-4
as no mine related impacts can reasonably be expected to occur at this
site.
SP 13-5: Spring & Pond 13-5 overlies an area mined during the last half of 1991
(Panel A) aryl middle of 1992 (Panel B). 7Stis location was observed in
June (0.0030 cfs inflow; porn full), July (no measurable inflow; pond 3/4
full) , and August (no +~+~a~~rable inflow; porxi 3/4 full) 1992. The June
inflow measurement was omitted from the AHR. No water quality samples
were collected. In June, a sample could have been collected but was not
as OOVCC questioned the utility of this information. The spring was still
functioning aryl had not been noticeably disrupted by subsidence. A
sufficient database for the pre-mining water quality at this location has
been established and, if necessary, additional water quality information
can be obtained in the future. All mining which could potentially effect
this site has been ca~g~leted and significant water quality impacts, as
7
